Peplink SDX Pro is a modular SD-WAN router built for organizations that want enterprise throughput plus on-device edge computing. In Peplink’s official tech specs, SDX Pro is rated for 24Gbps router throughput—a strong fit for high-bandwidth sites, regional hubs, and SD-WAN aggregation points.
Peplink SDX Pro is designed to be customized as requirements evolve. It supports two FlexModule Plus slots, and the tech specs show it can scale to 2–18 Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports and 0–18 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports (configuration-dependent), plus 2/6/10 10G SFP+ ports for high-speed fiber. For cellular diversity, SDX Pro supports up to 8 cellular modems with compatible modules, supporting designs that blend fiber + Ethernet + LTE/5G for uptime.
For secure overlays and WAN bonding, SDX Pro supports SpeedFusion VPN throughput listed at 1Gbps (no encryption) and 600Mbps (256-bit AES). It also supports up to 800 SpeedFusion VPN peers and up to 500 IPsec tunnels, making it suitable for dense multi-site topologies. High Availability and Drop-In Mode are supported for architectures where continuity is non-negotiable.
Edge computing is the differentiator. The SDX Pro tech specs list internal storage for edge computing with 500GB / 1TB / 2TB options and explicitly state support for applications, Docker, and KVM. External storage via USB is also supported; the tech specs note firmware 8.4.0+ is required for Docker/KVM via USB storage.
Operational controls remain enterprise-grade, including full web content filtering, application and web blocking, and 1024 VLAN support for segmentation. Hardware-wise, SDX Pro is listed as rack-mount 1U and supports dual hot-swap power supplies, supporting resilient deployments.
