Peplink Balance 5000 EC 100G is a high-capacity enterprise SD-WAN core router designed for the most demanding backbone and data-center networks. It delivers up to 110Gbps router throughput and supports SpeedFusion VPN throughput of 30Gbps (including 256-bit AES), enabling secure, high-speed connectivity across large multi-site environments.
Peplink Balance 5000 EC 100G ‘s Connectivity is built for scale and flexibility. The platform supports 6–8 (2.5GE) Ethernet WAN ports and 3–9 (2.5GE) Ethernet LAN ports, with WAN/LAN roles configurable in the web admin. For ultra-fast fiber aggregation, the 100G model includes 2× (25G SFP28) WAN and 2× (25G SFP28) LAN, plus 1× (100G QSFP28) WAN and 1× (100G QSFP28) LAN—ideal for core switching uplinks and high-bandwidth interconnects.
Edge Computing is built in. Peplink Balance 5000 EC 100G provides internal storage for edge workloads (2× 1TB) and supports running applications (including Python), Docker containers, and KVM hypervisor so you can run services directly on the router and reduce latency for local processing.
For resilient SD-WAN, SpeedFusion capabilities include Hot Failover, Smoothing, Bandwidth Bonding, SpeedFusion Connect (CarePlan includes 2.5TB/year complimentary SpeedFusion Connect usage data), and Relay Mode. It also supports High Availability, Drop-In Mode, and LAN Bypass for Internet traffic from LAN 1→WAN 3 and LAN 2→WAN 4 to maintain essential connectivity paths.
At enterprise scale, it supports up to 4,000 SpeedFusion VPN peers, up to 800 IPsec tunnels, and up to 1,000 PPTP/L2TP/OpenVPN users. Core network services include inter-VLAN routing with up to 2,048 802.1q VLANs, along with Netflow support, LACP NIC bonding, jumbo frames, and InControl 2 cloud management (up to 2,000 controlled APs/switches).
The appliance is 1U rack-mount (17.2 × 25.6 × 1.73 in / 438 × 650 × 44 mm), weighs 24 kg, and supports a dual hot-swap power supply design.
